Default Need some convincing!!! please reply

Well yeah.. as the title says i need some convincing! Ive known about Guild Wars for about 3 months now and honestly, the screenshots look beautiful, and knowing there is no monthly fees is great, but less money spent and graphics alone wont really win my $50. So i come to this forum to ask those that have it.. is it worth the money?
There are some rumors that ive heard about the game:

-Only time you see massive amounts of people are in meeting areas.
-Only allowed to have 4 people on a quest.
-Extremely hard to get any companions to play with.
-Basically a single player RPG but only online.
-When you start a quest, your computer creates a server for u to play on, making you vulnerable to hackers.
-Hard to communicate with players
-No in game voices for characters
-PvP isnt very exciting. quoted as being "epic" but 6vs.6 doesnt sound epic.
-No storyline
-mostly n00b communities ingame

I would also like to know what are your personal pluses for this game. And what are your negatives for this game.

If there is a storyline, is it linear?

How small is the world?

And please i would like a summary of your experience playing GW. Before i make my final decision to buy the game tomorrow, i would like to get some input. Thanks a bunch!

-Only time you see massive amounts of people are in meeting areas.
Everything outside of towns and outposts is instanced, so when you go exploring or questing, you'll only actually see the other people in your party. You can still interact with other players through guild chat or whispers.

-Only allowed to have 4 people on a quest
Different areas of the game have different limits on the number of people in a party. The first(short) area only allows 2, but I usually solo it, as it goes faster and you get more experience that way. The first 4 storyline missions are limited to 4 characters, but after you've completed them, you can have 6 players. Later on in the game the party size increases to 8.

-Extremely hard to get any companions to play with.
I've never had a problem- there always seem to be people looking for more players, or looking for a group- if you're looking for a group to join, there's generally not much difficulty, and if you're looking for a person to fill a free spot in your group, it's generally easy unless you're looking for a specific profession and there are none around who don't have groups. If you need to, you can always take an NPC henchmen to fill in an empty spot as well.

-Basically a single player RPG but only online.
Well, it has similar elements to a single player RPG- such as quests, a storyline, etc.... not too different from an online multiplayer version of a good RPG like Morrowind or Neverwinter Nights.

-When you start a quest, your computer creates a server for u to play on, making you vulnerable to hackers.
This is completely false- pretty much everything for the game is run on ArenaNet's servers to prevent hacking attempts or people having access to the sever software in order to make pirate servers or reverse engineer the game for hacks/cheats. There's actually less of the game that's actually run by your computer than any MMORPG that I've heard of.

-Hard to communicate with players
I have no clue where this is coming from- the chat system is easy to understand and use, and offers lots of options. You can send messages to everyone in the area, to your party members, to your guild mates, or via the trading channel. You can also whisper specific characters if you're trying to have a conversation with someone, and the whisper autocompletes the name so you can just keep typing. The only problem that I've had at all with the chat function is that there's a limited number of characters you can type in at one time- something like 100 characters, or about 1.5 lines of text.... though you just have to split longer messages up into a couple different parts.

-No in game voices for characters
The cinematics that you trigger as you progress along the storyline have voice acting- there's no pre-made commands to have your character say something, but that's never been a highly-used feature in any games that I've played that had them.

-PvP isnt very exciting. quoted as being "epic" but 6vs.6 doesnt sound epic.
PvP is probably the most exciting part of the game. Rather than being about who has the most people, or just chaotic masses of people merging and laying about with their weapons, the PvP in Guild Wars is more tatically based. The matches are determined by player skill, teamwork, and strategy, rather than level, equipment, and numbers. Most of the PvP is based around 8-man teams, as that's still a good number of people to allow teamwork without being limited by being too small. Any larger, and things start to get more chaotic. I'd recommend trying it out- I'd never really enjoyed PvP in any other RPG's that I'd played, but I got addicted to the PvP in GW on my second or third match.

-No storyline
Again, very false. GW has a more in-depth storyline than pretty much any other RPG that I've played on a computer- probably not quite as much as say Final Fantasy 7, but far more than any other multiplayer online game(some MUD's excluded). There's 25 missions that will take you through the main plot, each taking 30 minutes to an hour to complete, and countless sidequests and such dealing with the story as well.

-mostly n00b communities ingame
Umm... I don't know what to say for this one. I guess seeing as the game was just released yesterday, most people would still be considered newbie-ish. However, that just sounds like some drivel someone who was biased against the game came up to say something bad about it without having any real arguments.

I would also like to know what are your personal pluses for this game. And what are your negatives for this game.

Pluses would be fun gameplay, interesting storyline, and excellent PvP. Significant Mention would be the plethora of possibilities of skills to choose from when making a character.

Negatives: not too many, but I occasionally have lag when entering towns/outposts- I'll be pretty jerky for about a minute or so after entering. There's no way to hide a specific persons chat on the !All channel- you can ignore them to block whispers, and can toggle whether or not to see the channel, but you can't just block one person. Another minus is that there's only 25 possible spaces between your friends and ignore list combined(putting someone on your ignore list decreases the number of people you can have on your friends list and vice versa). Overall, just very small things.

Oh yeah- and Wind Riders.... &@#&# those creatures are annoying.

If there is a storyline, is it linear?
The mission storyline is pretty linear- you can't choose to be evil and sabotage ascalon, or do anything like that. The missions have a storyline, and you can't really change the story at all.

How small is the world?
The world is quite large- probably on a similar scale to that of WoW, though maybe a bit smaller. It would probably take several hundred hours to explore the entire world, mostly depending on how good you are at killing and staying alive, as well as your party members. There's also the Worlds at War content that aren't actually on the world map(such as the Underworld- descend into the world of the dead ), and are very large levels, and not ones that you'll be able to get through very quickly.

And please i would like a summary of your experience playing GW. Before i make my final decision to buy the game tomorrow, i would like to get some input. Thanks a bunch!
Well, I've been an alpha tester since October, and have been playing the game probably an average of 4+ hours a day since that time, and I still really enjoy playing the game. There's still corners of the world that I haven't explored(though not too many), and the PvP is even more exciting and enjoyable than when I started playing. Considering that expansions are intended to be released every 6-9 months, if it doesn't get old in 6 months, that should tide you through to the next expansion, which have been said will have an equivalent amount of content as the initial release.
